Our Anniversary!

January 21st, 2007 is the day Ryan and I became Boyfriend and Girlfriend.

January 21st, 2008 is the day Ryan and I became Husband and Wife.
January 21st, 2009 was the day we got to celebrate those wonderful events!!!!!

That night we went out to eat Sushi at our favorite sushi restaurant, Taoki Sushi 4 U. Which is also the place he took me out on our first date. The food was very delicious!!! We got Meso Soup for appetizers and Calamari Tempura, mmmm.
Then we got the Rainbow Roll (our personal favorite) The Playboy Roll (the waitress recommended it) and the King Roll (huge and delicious) Then they gave us small little dessert, (free!) they were very good! The first picture is the King Roll. It was so big we couldn't finish it since we started out with the playboy and rainbow roll, the second picture.

Then we got home and opened our cake that had been sitting in our freezer for a year. It also tasted very, very good!! Everyone I talked to that ate their cake on their one year said their cake just tasted frozen. What we did was put it in a cake box and Ryan wrapped it in 6 layers of plastic and 6 layers of tin foil. Then three days before our anniversary we stuck it in the fridge to thaw. It was yummy!
It took Ryan about 5-10 minutes to unwrap the cake!

Playing Cards

My dad just recently got us all into playing a card game called ''Rook''. It is definantly a Goodrich thing. The Goodrich's really seem to love playing that game. It is very addicting and great fun! Also we just learned how to play Rage which is just as fun.

The best part is, Michael can play Rage and be on his own team. He's really great at it too! It is so cute to see Luchito and Michael get so into the game, even though they are really wiggly and have a hard time sitting still, you can tell they are concentrating hard on what to do next.

It was the last trick of our last round of Rage. We all got dealt one card, and we made our bids. Everyone bid Zero except for Ryan and Michael, they both bid one. Michael said "OH I know exactly what I'm doing!" The Trump was purple. My dad and I threw out our low cards, Ryan threw out a 15 green, Cherisse and Luchito both threw out their low cards. When it was Michael's turn he looked at Ryan for a second and had a mischievous grin on his face. He threw down a Wild Rage and said with authority and confidence in his voice, "I want it to be 15 purple" (Which was the highest card) He surprised us all!!!! He won first place in that entire round! Good job Michael!!!

We all played Two rounds of Rage (which last a long time) My mom played for two tricks, then she went to bed. After Rage, Ryan, my dad, Cherry and I played Rook until 2:00 am! It was a whole lot of fun. What a great way to spend our day. I love the pictures of Michael he always made some pretty funny but very cute faces!

Poems

I love writing poems. I haven't written much lately for a long time. I started writing poems when I was 14, and I have many poems in notebooks laying around somewhere. I wrote one last night and a month ago. I'd like to share them with you. They are sad, sorry about that, I'm better at writing sad poems. The titles are "a work in progress" so I will probably change them later once I find better ones. Here we go:

"Enjoy the Darkness"

Her unsteady hand closed the door
Shutting the world out forever more

Tears streamed down her pale white face
Never had she found her place

All she felt was searing pain
Made her want to go insane

She lost her will to just move on
And now arrived the dreaded dawn

As she watched the sun go down
She slipped into her parting gown

She lay down on her silky sheet
And waited for her last heartbeat

By -Lucia McKeag-

Here is how I started this poem. I wanted to write something, but I didn't know how to begin.
I opened a book, and the first sentence I saw was "Enjoy the Darkness." I began to write. It took me a while to get it just perfect, and to where I wouldn't fuss over it. I didn't mean for it to turn into a suicide poem or death poem, it just turned out that way. I just let the words flow into my hand. Honestly!

"Forever Mine"

The man that kept her love alive
No longer could his heart survive

Few words were said between the two
Except the words "I Love You."

Their lips touched softly one last time
He said to her "Forever Mine."

He closed his eyes so painfully
And held his wife so lovingly

She wept onto his small warm chest
And watched him take his last big breath

Side by side for 60 years
Now all alone to face her fears

The man that kept her love alive
No longer did his heart survive

She closed her sad and old wet eyes
To drift away into the skies

By -Lucia McKeag-

I don't know how I started to write this one. I wanted to write something about love, or marriage, and this is what flowed out. I guess it is dedicated to all the old couples that have gotten through this life for 40-60 years and still are in love after that long. Especially because of the way the world is today.

This too took me a long time to write. About two hours. I'm so picky, and I usually criticize everything I write and question if I could've done better. But this time I feel differently. Honestly....not to be conceded or anything, but compared to all the poems I've written in five years, I think these two poems are some of my best ones.

Hope you enjoyed them. I apologize if they depress you!!!

If you have any ideas for the titles (because I don't like them) I'm open to suggestions!

Silly Luchito!

Yesterday Luchito was hungry, so he grabbed a can of tuna. Apparently he couldn't find the can opener, so he grabbed the bottle opener and used that to open it instead!! Check it out!

Imagine how long that took him!!!! He is very persistent! Later we realized that the can opener was right behind him, he just didn't see it!!

Haha Silly Luchito!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas!

Life has been so busy I haven't been able to post anything!!

Well our Christmas was great!

One of our Christmas traditions is to open one present on Christmas Eve, like most people. Then we get one present on the foot of our bed that we can open as soon as we wake up Christmas morning, while waiting for everyone else to wake up. In Peru the kids get most or all of their gifts on or around their bed, so instead of all our presents under the tree or on the bed, we do both sort of.
The boys woke up at 4:00 am wanting to open presents. The presents on the foot of their beds were nice new pajamas and they quickly put them on and and anxiously waited for everyone to wake up! We had to wait for my dad to get home from work, which was around 7:00 am.

Ryan didn't want to wake up, he went to sleep at 3:00 am lol! Anyways, My grandma came over and around 7:30 present opening began. The boys were super excited to open their presents, and when Michael opened the biggest present he received this year, his eyes just about popped out of his head!!!

Look at how big that dinosaur is!!! It makes noises and "eats" if you put the fake leaves in its mouth. Its kinda cool. Michael was so excited. I believe his name is Kota.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!!!
