Our New Car!!!

Our New Car!!!
Ryan and I have had a 2000 Volkswagon New Beetle for a year. It was limegreen, and very cute. We bought the car from my Uncle Roland who gave us a good deal. At the time we were in great need of a car and this little beetle was the car for us then. We figured it might only be a temporary car, but it wasn't for sure. It is very cute and fun car, but when they break down they are kind of expensive to fix. We have learned the European Cars can be super expensive to repair! (Dang!)

About a month or two ago the check engine light came on. The mechanic told us it was just the gas cap that had a small leak, so we didn't worry about it too much. Buying a gas cap wasn't on our Top 10 important things to do list. Well it turns out the problem was the water pump. Since the water pump broke, it started eating away at the head gasket (which is the super expensive part to fix) and when you replace the head gasket, the timing belt goes with it (or so the mechanic said..) anyways, it was going to be a lot of money.

We didn't have a good feeling about fixing the car, because what if it broke down again? Would we be able to afford another repair? My mom suggested going to my uncle again (who works at a Car dealership and he has been in that business for a very long time.) and to see what we could get if we traded in the bug. We called him and he had us come in and talk to him. He showed us a few cars, we test drove one of them and we talked finance. We told him we needed to discuss it and see if it was the best thing for us to get into another car. We prayed about it and we felt good about it, we also discussed it with my parents and got their opinions. (which helped a lot)

A few days later my uncle called me at work "Want to come pick up your new car?" I was
so excited!! I'm so grateful to my uncle for giving us such a great deal, and helping us out as much as he could. I feel so relieved now that we don't have to worry about the other car. Sure cars will always break down, but this is a better car and I am excited to have it. New cars are always fun! It is a 2007 Pontiac G6 and its a royal blue color that I love.

We picked it up Saturday night and someone from the dealership picked up the bug yesterday afternoon. We've already driven it in the snow a little and it's pretty good in the snow as long as you're safe of course. Again I'm grateful for my uncle being so willing to help us out, and for my mom suggesting a trade in, and for God letting us know this was the right decision. One less thing for us to worry about.
